Shattered Secrets - Diane Adams, RJ Scott I really liked this book. I felt like it was a bit different from other shifter stories what with the different society and the human and shifters openly co-existing together, the hatred some people had for the wolves and the 'imprinting' instead of just mating. It was unique in it's own way.

At first, I didn't like Rob but he still appealed to me a little. I felt he was unreasonably hostile towards finding out Jamie was a wolf. I hated him but I still liked him. Jamie was just adorable, a bit naive and reckless but I still loved him. Eventually, Rob gets over his hostility after being privy to some seriously secret information about wolves and makes things right with Jamie, after he screwed it all up.

I liked the mystery although at times it either felt rushed or a bit slow, like they were waiting on something which I supposed is pretty accurate because they were waiting on something. Either way, I did enjoy it. I felt Jamie needn't have been involved but his involvement made the story a little bit more enjoyable.

I felt the ending was a bit rushed, though. I was hoping for a little bit more information from Jamie's point of view while he was essentially being held hostage. What did he go through once Lewis left locking him and Sam in that room? Did they make any other demands? If they left Sam and Jamie alone then how did Sam become more injured than he was when they were locked in? How did Sam end up there? I hope that's answered in his book if there is one. I also had other questions like how does one break a wolf? I wasn't really clear on that. There was, however, one thing I could not get over and that's, this book needed a better editor. Every time I got into the story, I'd be pulled right back out by the editing mistakes. I tried looking past them and enjoy the story but like I said, I'd be pulled out by missing words, some inconsistencies, etc. That's what is ultimately deciding my rating because I seriously loved the story but I would have loved it more if it was better edited. :(

All in all, I really enjoyed the story. It was a bit different and I liked that a lot. I'm looking forward to the next book and hopefully it'll be of Sam or maybe Doug. Recommended. :)
