Mind Magic - Poppy Dennison 4.5 stars

This was one of those stories that grabs hold of you and doesn't let go. It's unique in the sense of how the world is set up, the pacing and the writing is amazing to where it keeps your attention while progressing the story at a good pace. The characters where interesting and intriguing while the plot had a few twists and turns.

I was amazed at how much I enjoyed this story. Mostly because I've been in such a funk lately that I can't seem to finish a book in one sitting anymore. With this book, however, I read it and didn't want to put it down. I didn't even want to pause to go to sleep or do all those menial chores I needed to get done. It was easy for me to connect with these characters, though, because Simon is just so loveable and I adored his obsession with plants. Gray is just the right amount of alpha where he's not overly dominate but he still gives off that power that's attractive. I honestly loved these boys and was sad when the story ended.

The secondary characters were funny and cute. I loved Gray's son, Garon, he was just so adorable. Cormac I was particularly interested in because he seemed so tame for a vampire. And I'm definitely intrigued by the other wolves in Gray's pack (especially Liam and Cade). I loved the way this book started and how it progressed. The mystery was good although I had a suspicion of who was doing it all but I still really enjoyed it because it brought Gray and Simon closer together. I loved how easily Simon was accepted into the pack and really liked how they treated him like he was someone special.

The only thing wrong was the story is it's a bit open-ended. I still have a few questions about it all and I really want to see how Gray and Simon deal with all that wasn't resolved in this story. Hopefully we'll get another book about them as well as getting ones for all those other secondary characters I enjoyed.

All in all, a fantastic story. It really captured my attention, the writing was solid, the plot interesting with unique attributes and the characters were especially lovable. I know this is definitely a book I can re-read and I'm anxiously awaiting any sequels to come. Recommended!
